Conduct Update: Alpha Phi

Update 3/22/17: Alpha Phi took responsibility for the following charges, any other listed charges were dropped
Respect for Others D1 (Hazing)

As a result of this behavior the following sanction(s) will be imposed:
You are placed on Disciplinary Probation effective March 22, 2017 through May 31, 2017. Disciplinary Probation is defined as the imposition of a trial period in which students must show that they are willing to live up to the expectations in this Code of Conduct. This trial period may not exceed four semesters.  This status implies that further violations of this code may result in disciplinary suspension or expulsion.  Other sanctions may be imposed, and additional requirements may be imposed as conditions for reinstatement in good standing.

The following educational sanction is being imposed. Work with your OFSA AD and the women of Alpha Gamma Delta to create a program for next years "Hawks Against Hazing" week exploring the Lehigh University definition of hazing, the idea of consent as it relates to hazing, and the nuances of identifying hazing behaviors. It is to be completed by March 1, 2018.

The rationale for this sanction is that the days the new members were asked to dress up was during the Hawks Against Hazing week and it seems that the members of Alpha Phi would benefit from exploring hazing more deeply and helping the rest of the Greek community identify hazing behaviors.

The Office of Student Conduct has been made aware of an incident that occurred on March 3, 2017 in
which actions may have violated the Lehigh University Code of Conduct.
