Walk a Mile in her Shoes

My name is Sara Santos, and I am contacting you with the offer of a really great opportunity for the men in your team. I am the chapter President of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Incorporated here on Lehigh's campus. This year our chapter will be bringing back an event that you may remember from two years ago, "Walk a Mile". Walk a Mile is an international march for men to help bring an end to rape, sexual assault and gender violence. Each man that participates in the walk will be given a pair of red high heels to walk the distance of approximately one mile across Lehigh's campus. The concept of this march is that these men will be taking a pledge and stand against gender violence against women. 

The men in your chapter serve as role models to not only men in the Lehigh community but also to those outside of our Lehigh family. I believe this would be a great opportunity for the men in your chapter to become involved in a cause that will only be successful with the help of men as well. Also if you would like, I can come and speak directly to the members of your chapter or send another representative from my sorority to speak to them. 

I have attached a sign- up sheet for the men in your chapter that are interested in being a part of this great opportunity. The walk itself will be on April 18th, starting at 4:10 p.m. by the UC flagpole. Even if the men in your chapter are not able to walk in the march, I strongly encourage them to come and support their fellow Lehigh students. Though this event is free for anyone to attend, we are suggesting a donation of $3 for each man that is interested in walking, though those who do not wish to make the donation are still more than encouraged to walk as well. 

The final day for registration for the walk will be Friday, March 30th at 5pm. Please email me back the sign up sheets, including the name, email and shoe size of each man interested in participating. If your group, or an individual would like to make a donation we can meet individually or the donation can be made on the day of Walk a Mile.
